140 Repair Plant JSC was established on the basis of a mobile tank-aggregate repair plant – PTARZ No. 7, which was formed in May – August 1943 by the decision of the USSR State Defence Committee No. 3211 dated 19 April 1943. 140 Repair Plant started its activity on 7 May 1943.

In July 1948, PTRAZ No. 7 was relocated to Borisov. In December 1948, PTARZ No. 7 was transformed into 140 Armoured Repair Plant.

Under the Presidential Decree No. 597 of 30 December 2003, 140 Repair Plant republican unitary enterprise became a part of Goscomvoyenprom.

On 18 January 2010, the enterprise was reorganised into 140 Repair Plant Open Joint Stock Company.

Today, the principal directions of the company’s activity are:

1.The development and production of :

  • the Cаyman armoured vehicle
  • the GPM-72 tracked fire truck in cooperation with Pozhsnab LLC
  • the T-72BME tank in cooperation with Beltechexport Company CJSC and Peleng JSC

2.The overhaul and modernisation of armoured vehicles, their components and assemblies for:

  • tanks T-55, T-72, T-80 and their modifications
  • infantry fighting vehicles BMP-1, BMP-2 and their modifications
  • armoured personnel carriers BTR-60, BTR-70, BTR-80 and their modifications
  • upgrading BRDM-2 to BRDM-2MB1
  • warranty and service maintenance of the vehicles repaired
  • supply of spare parts for armoured vehicles
  • customer training in repair works and operation of armoured vehicles

The company became to provide services for civil use such as:

  • overhaul and upgrading of more than 20 modifications of motor–rail vehicles
  • overhaul and modernisation of 750 mm rail track equipment for peat industry
  • overhaul of more than 50 versions of diesel engines including B-2, B-6, D-6, D-12, UTD-20, UTD-29, YAMZ
  • manufacture of complex metal structures (frames, bodies, loading platforms) according to own or customer’s specifications
  • manufacture of mechanical rubber goods (MRG) by using customer’s and its own compression moulds
  • manufacture of various non-standard production equipment and tooling, dies
  • production of special technical equipment and attachments, compression moulds for MRG manufacture and other attachments both in compliance with customer’s and its own specifications.
