CESA is a European company that competes in the field of fluid mechanics. It is consolidated and has experience through the knowledge it inherited from EADS-CASA. Our shareholders are EADS-CASA (60 %) and UTC Aerospace Systems (40 %). Involved in important civil and military aircraft programmes, it develops systems and components for landing gear, cargo doors and ramps and flight controls, among other elements. CESA has a notable position as a leader in development programmes of new technologies, electromechanical actuators and fuel cells. Its activities include the design, development and production of fluid mechanics equipment and systems for aviation and aerospace applications, as well as maintenance and after-sales service.

  • Flight Controls (C-101, C-212, EF-2000, HURKUS, S-92)
    CESA has proven expertise in the development and manufacturing of flight controls. One example is the foreplane actuator (primary flight control system) that is developed and manufactured for the Eurofighter. The FT4B is an R&D project consisting in the development of a primary flight control system based on latest generation fly-by-wire technology. It is composed of highly complex servo actuators.
  • Landing Gear: NLG & MLG (C-101, C-212, CN-235, C-295, EFA, A400M, S-92, A350)
    CESA specialises in hydraulic actuation and in the development, manufacturing and qualification of hydraulic and electromechanical components for the aerospace industry. It manufactures the landing gear of the C-212, CN-235 and C-295 aircraft for ADS. CESA also makes the landing gear for the TIGER helicopter, together with the two-stage shock absorber. CESA has also developed the main and nose landing gear for ADS’s ATLANTE UAV. It uses an oleo strut and a light carbon fibre spring.
  • UAV Landing Gear and Components: MLG & NLG ATLANTE UAV
    CESA develops, certifies and manufactures the landing gear of ADS’s ATLANTE UAV. The nose gear includes a shimmy damper, an electric steering actuator, wheel and tire system and an arrestor hook braking system. The main landing gear is composed of carbon fibre. CESA is qualified to design, manufacture and certify landing gear for light aircraft of up to 10 tonnes.
  • Landing Gear: Actuators (CN-235, C-295, A400M, EF-2000, A330/340, A340-600, A380)
    CESA has particularly expertise on proprietary ramp systems with military applications. It has developed the complete A400M ramp system (Strut, Ramp Toe, Air Deflector, Locking Latching). It also develops and is responsible for the components that are comprised in the ramp system on the following aircraft: CN235, C-212, C-295 and S-92 Sikorsky. In all of these cases, CESA has also developed both simple and telescopic ramp actuators for both civil and military applications, including manifolds, modules and control panels.
  • ARBS Actuation System: HOIST, ERA and BRSU
    CESA supplies two important electromechanical systems for ADS’s ARBS MRTT refuelling system programme, known as Tail Boom. These systems are the HOIST system, which raises the boom, and the ERA system, which extends and retracts the boom. Furthermore, CESA is in charge of developing the electromechanical actuation systems in various R&D&i programmes for different applications under both national and European cofunded projects: flight controls, nose gear, cargo doors, etc.
