Jelen is the biggest Croatian manufacturer of military and custom made military, protection, working and firefighter footwear, with total annual production exceeding 200.000 pairs of shoes.

Jelen was founded in 1948 and started as the first company establishing clothing industry in Croatia from the early beginning. Jelen has followed very focused its strategy of quality, development and continuing growth. In the manufacturing process Jelen uses two technologies: adhesive footwear technology and directly injected polyurethane footwear technology.
Special military footwear quality is assured by using water – resistant membrane designed in accordance with SYMPATEX technology, which enables feet to breathe by preventing water to breach in the inside, while simultaneously allowing any vapour to evaporate.

SYMPATEX is a hydrofoil, polyester membrane without pores, only 15 microns thick (1/16mm), which is extremely light and highly elastic, all of which ensures both 100% water – resistance and extreme airiness. SYMPATEX membrane fitting process is constantly monitored by the licensing company, and all products are subjected to rigorous tests: stitching test, ripping test, wearing out test, twisting test and simulation walking test.
