The plant’s history goes back to 12 July 1941 – the day of creation of the 2nd aircraft repair train of the Baltic Fleet Air Force, which passed the battle routes from Leningrad to Koenigsberg and ended the war in the Primorsk Territory in the Far East participating in the defeat of militarist Japan.
On 24 December 1956, the enterprise was relocated to the r.s. Bolbasovo.
Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant JSC is the leading enterprise in the Republic of Belarus in the sphere of overhaul and modernisation of various modifications of Mi-2, Mi-17 (Mi-17), Mi-24 (Mi-35), Mi-26 helicopters, of removable and fixed equipment, components, units and systems, measuring instruments, as well as test and control equipment, in supplying spare parts to the above helicopters, as well as the IL-76 airplane maintenance and repair.
Today, the enterprise has mastered the MODERNISATION programmes of:
- Mi-2 helicopter into the Mi-2М variant, with installing more powerful and efficient AI-450M engines.
- Mi-24 helicopter (Mi-35) in the variant of round-the-clock combat use in any weather conditions.
- Mi-8 helicopter (Mi-17, Mi-171), as well as in “Salon”, “VIP-salon” passenger variants.
- Mi-8 helicopters in the ambulance, troop-carrying variant and other variants according to the developer’s documentation.
Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant JSC has extensive experience in repairing helicopters at the operator’s cantonments, as well as providing technical support for the helicopters operation, in training engineering and technical personnel, and in the organisation of service centres in various regions of the world.
Enterprise’s production facilities allow the overhaul of up to 60 helicopters a year.
The enterprise holds the SPR-12 Certificate of the Interstate Aviation Committee Aviation Register. This Certificate confirms the compliance of Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant JSC with the requirements of the Aviation Regulations, Part 145 “Repair Organisations” (AP-145), and ICAO standards and recommendations; the enterprise has also been certified for compliance with the quality management system requirements of the ISO 9001: 2015 International Standard.
The enterprise has the licence of the Belarusian State Military–Industrial Committee to manage activities related to military products, the Certificate of the State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus granting it the right to conduct foreign trade activities with respect to military aircraft.
These documents allow the enterprise to execute independent activities on foreign markets without involving 3rd parties.
