Peleng JSC is the leading enterprise of the optomechanical and optoelectronic industry in the Republic of Belarus.
In 1975, the design department at Minsk Mechanical Works named after S.I. Vavilov (BelOMA) was reorganised into a separate legal entity – Central Designing Bureau Peleng. The design bureau was subordinated to the USSR Ministry of Defence Industry. After the dissolution of the USSR, Peleng was moved under the control of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus. In 1994, Peleng went public. In 2004, Peleng JSC joined the family of companies of the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee.
The main activities of Peleng JSC are R&D and the production of optical and optoelectronic systems used in:
- aerospace optical-electronic equipment
- forensic and security systems
- meteorological equipment
