“Vazovski Mashinostroitelni Zavodi” town of Sopot was inaugurated by the Bulgarian Tsar Boris III in 1936.
“VMZ” EAD is the biggest state enterprise from the military and industrial complex in Bulgaria with more than 80 years of history and is leader in the production of various caliber ammunitions, and in addition is the only manufacturer in the world producing some of them. Company turnover for the last two years is over 500 million euro, while profit before taxes – 180 million euro.
Thanks to the intellectual potential of its engineering staff and high qualification of its executive personnel, high technologies have been implemented in the production, item performance characteristics are improved, and while part of the items are accepted into service in the Bulgarian army others are in the process of being accepted into service.

VMZ-Sopot’s production is well-known around the world and is being exported to over 30 countries across five continents.
Countries such as Egypt, Czech Republic, Israel, Indonesia, Rwanda, Afghanistan, the United States of America, Iraq, UAE and many others.
The company will go down in history as first and only enterprise to be awarded three times with the highest national insignia of honor – “Order Georgi Dimitrov”.

The company has a full license for ammunition export, import, transfer and brokerage activity, and apart from being recognized manufacturer is also a reliable commercial partner.
The company’s management has specified quality policy and goals, aiming at improvement of QCS efficiency and increasing customer’s content. QCS developed and operative documents specify the obligations and interaction between the different officials in order to achieve set goals.
The quality control system is certified in accordance with the requirements of international standard ISO 9001:2008 and allied publication AQAP 2110.
