SAPA is a leading company in the military industry. We develop intelligent and efficient systems that provide vehicles with greater protection and high mobility. Our business model is based on innovation and knowledge, consequently offering technologies that provide solutions for mobility, power generation and vehicle protection.

  • Anti-aircraft Artillery Systems
Sapa specialises in anti-aircraft artillery systems, and currently, through its alliance with Rheinmetall, it supplies latestgeneration solutions such as the stationary Skyguard® and Skyshield® systems and mobile systems such as Skyranger®
  • Tracked Vehicle Transmissions
SAPA’s transmissions deliver maximum power and provide excellent vehicle mobility.
The propulsion system of our transmissions has 32 speeds and is electro-hydraulically controlled. The “steer by wire” steering allows optimum control of the vehicle at high speeds and during sharp turns.
The high efficiency inherent in this technology, greater than 90 %, is derived from having eliminated hydraulic elements, therefore requiring significantly less power from the engine. This means reduced noise, optimised fuel consumption and a smaller cooling system.
  • Wheeled Vehicle Transmissions
SAPA’s wheeled combat vehicle transmissions improve the efficiency of conventional automatic transmissions by eliminating the torque converter and reducing losses due to hydraulic pumps, clutches and brakes, thereby improving vehicle mobility in variable terrain situations.
Thanks to its unique and patented multi-gear concept, the transmissions provide a high ratio spread of 31 with 24 gears divided into equal steps at 16 % increments. This allows a quasicontinuous variable behaviour of the transmission, with efficiency exceeding 90 %, and optimisation of engine operation.
  • Auxiliary Power Units
SAPA’s low-voltage generators, together with internal combustion engines, are the most efficient auxiliary power units with the greatest power density that can be integrated in any tank. Customised for every application, the dimensions can be adapted to an available space as small as 30 cm high. They improve battery management, they increase the vehicle’s availability, they have reduced acoustic and thermal signatures in surveillance situations, and they power the fire control system, communications and the air conditioning system with the main engine turned off.
  • High-voltage Electric Power and Generation Systems
SAPA supplies high-voltage electric machines for powers exceeding 17 kW (up to 150 kW), designed to work with internal combustion engines as an alternator or as an engine.
Their ability to operate at high temperature (up to 100 °C) and their reduced volume allow a range of applications without rivals in the field of electric vehicles, including traction motors and generators in hybrid systems.
